Children's Museum trip

Last week we made a trip up to the Pitts. Children's Museum -- the last family trip before Marlon's soccer season gets underway. We hadn't been to the children's museum since our last trip so it was good to go again. We met up with the wife and kids of Marlon's college roommate Greg so we were able to spend a little time with them at the museum. We then met up with Greg after work at their house--it was great to see them and let our kids play together. Their son Luke is Alex's age and Sarah is Kellan's age, so they have a good time together. Here are some pictures:
The only picture of all 4 kids playing at the same place-after that they were off and running in different directions

The big kids are focused on playing...
Cool art project that allowed you to take a video of yourself and it would project up on this huge wall along with a whole bunch of other videos--Kellan was checking it out (see Alex's videos along the bottom)
Sand wheel
Cool thing that allowed you to "catch" letters as they fell - I think this was my favorite exhibit :)

It was a fun trip, long overdue. It was a good time had by all!

Visit from an old friend

As mentioned in my previous post, I was so excited to get a visit from Heidi and her 2 boys, Donovan (4) and Killian (2). We hadn't seen each other in a little over 2 years I think (shame on us!) since I moved out here and she moved from NJ to NC. We've always been planning to get together but this is the first time it's actually happened! We enjoyed 3 days with them and loved watching our kids bond--hopefully Alex and Donovan are now at the age where they will remember the time they had together since we don't know when we'll get together again (although I am totally hoping to make a trip down there next!) Her boys are SO sweet and adorable, and I think they had a ton of fun!

The kids at the park

Alex and Donovan playing Mario Kart on the Wii (I think if you asked Donovan what he enjoyed most he would probably say this!)

Heidi and I (taken by one of our kids)-unfortunately we didn't manage to get one of us with all 4 kids....ahh maybe next time!

Friends sharing a hug (I left the kissing one off--a little inappropriate for a public blog!)

Donovan--what a cutie!

Heidi and Killian

Yet another Mario Kart snapshot--this time they're all in their soccer gear
Killian (He totally reminds me of Kellan-I can't wait to see them next to each other as Kellan gets bigger!)

We ventured up to the Children's Museum in Pittsburgh. I think Heidi and I were beat when it was all over but I think the kids had fun--here they are painting.

Just because I don't work at Rita's anymore doesn't mean we don't enjoy eating it! The kids got sundaes on our way back home.
I definitely wish we lived closer together but we will have to continue to make trips on a regular basis--miss you all and love you!!
